Circulating Current Control for the Modular Multilevel Matrix Converter Based on Model Predictive Control

In this work, a continuous-control-set model predictive control (CCS-MPC) strategy, with saturation scheme for protection, is presented regulating the circulating currents of modular multilevel matrix converter (M3C). The proposed approach based on state-space M3C and allows protection better utilization devices through scheme, which directly limits arm cluster output voltages by integrating corresponding bounds as constraints CCS-MPC formulation. order to solve inherent optimization problem associated CCS-MPC, an active-set algorithm implemented. Experimental simulation results from 27-cell prototype validate strategy illustrate good performance achieved methodology in work.
